About Me
Monika Sosnowska: A Journey of Capturing Life's Beauty
My love for photography began at the age of 15, though in many ways, it feels like it started even earlier. Growing up, my father, a photographer, encouraged my siblings and me to explore art in different forms. He always had a camera in hand, documenting moments, and from a young age, I found myself fascinated by the stories captured through his lens. But it wasn’t until I took a photography course in grade 9 with Mr. Fuller that my passion truly ignited. Mr. Fuller helped shape my visual eye, guiding me to see the world through the lens in a completely new way. His encouragement set the foundation for what would become not just a hobby, but my life's work.
My father, beyond his influence as a photographer, provided me with access to tools and knowledge that weren’t easily available to young photographers. He shared tips, tricks, and feedback, and one of my proudest moments was when we were featured together as a father-daughter photography duo in a local newspaper. It’s these moments that deepened my connection to photography and inspired me to pursue it further.
One of the things that drives me is the realization that my family, despite my dad being a photographer, never had a portrait with all of us together. This missing piece in our family history pushes me to ensure that other families don’t miss out on those irreplaceable moments. Capturing portraits is not just about freezing a moment in time—it’s about documenting a family’s evolving story, from their changes in style to the joy and love that binds them.
I find great fulfillment in working with individuals, making them feel confident, beautiful, and proud of the artistic portraits we create together.
When I’m photographing someone, I aim to capture their essence. The moments when they feel their best, their true selves. I want my clients to love their photos so much that they proudly display them, whether it's on social media or as art in their homes. I especially love working with clients who start out nervous. Seeing them relax, have fun, and feel confident by the end of the session is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. My goal is for every portrait to reflect who they are at their core.
Working with young families is a particular joy. Their energy, the way children run around and parents smile—it’s such a lively atmosphere. Being able to capture that happiness is magical, and knowing that I’ve created something meaningful for them is deeply satisfying.
As I look ahead, my vision for the future is to continue creating portraits that people treasure for a lifetime. I want my work to be remembered for its quality, its ability to capture special moments, and the way it makes people feel like they’ve stepped straight out of a fashion magazine. Photography, for me, is an art form—one that preserves memories, celebrates individuality, and showcases the beauty in everyone.
